Y Consortiwm Cymraeg presents the comedy Addysgu Rita ( Educating Rita) by Willy Russell, translated by Gwawr Loader The Olivier Award Winning play, in Welsh for the very first time When Rita, a married girl who works as a hairdresser, enrolls in a university course in order to broaden her horizons, she has no idea what the end of the journey will be. Her cynical tutor, Frank, the frustrated poet, brilliant academic and committed drinker, is not very enthusiastic about taking Rita under his wing. But they both come to realize how much they have to learn from each other. This funny and warm comedy will delight audiences throughout Wales. “At the heart of the play is a human being who hungers for something better, and that is a basic and primitive experience.”
