Price of Change

A Play with Music by Vic Mills, Music by Stephen J. Preston and Lyrics & Poetry by Kevin Mills

Can you imagine an independent Wales? ‘Price of Change’ offers an inspiring and moving vision of a Wales stepping out on its own, basing its principles on the life and work of Wales’ greatest thinker, Dr Richard Price of Llangeinor.

Can you imagine an independent Wales?  'Price of Change’ offers an inspiring and moving vision of a Wales stepping out on its own, basing its principles on the life and work of Wales’ greatest thinker, Dr Richard Price of Llangeinor - a hugely significant moral philosopher and mathematician, who had a great impact on world political events in the 18th century – most importantly American Independence and The French Revolution. Alongside the story of Price, we are told the story of Cari, a young woman who lives in the Garw Valley, in Bridgend, in an imagined near future, with Wales about to vote on its own independence, as she turns to Price for inspiration as a new day dawns for Wales.
A cast of four professional actors brings these two interwoven stories to life, with film and images from Welsh film-maker, Chris Lloyd and stunning new songs and music from Welsh composer, Stephen J Preston.
